Shri Vasupujya Jain Derasar

In the middle of the village resides Shri Vasupujya Derasar of Jain devotees. This was inaugurated in 1948 according to Hindu calendar. Derasar's main statue is of God Vasupujyaswami, there also resides the statues of Shri

PadmaPrabhuji, Shri Anantnathji, Shri Shantinathji and Shri Dharmnathji Bhagwans.

Atithigraha

Big Dharmshala
The huge halls for religious lectures and religious meditations are known as Dharmshala or Upashray. They have such Dharmshala of Jain Deravasi in Merao. As time progressed it was not big enough for many occasions and so in 1980 according to Hindu calendar,
built bigger Dharmshala in the same place, which is known as Big Dharmshala today.


Small Dharmshala
The late Mr. Umarshi Kheraj's widow Ganga Swarup Purbai and Bhachbai has built Upashray in Langana Fariya in the memory of her husband that is known as Small Dharmshala.

Sthanaks
There are two Sthanaks in Merao. There is on small sthanak in the middle of west fariya which was built in 1954 according to Hindu calander, that is so years ago. When it was found not big enough, they built bigger one in 1994 according to Hindu calendar.

Mandir

Shri Thakar Mandir
Vaishanv's Shri Murli Manohar Thakarji Temple resides in the middle of the village at the Market Square. Merao's Jadeja's has built this mandir 1917 according Hindu calendar.

Shri Kashivishvanath Mahadev's Mandir (Math)
There are two temples of lord Shiva at Merao's entrance gate. Shri Kashivishvanath Mahadev's mandir that came in the Math of Shri Goswami Amergarji, Ishergarji near the bus stand is also called Math.


Shri Bhidbhanjan Mahadev's Temple (Madi)
This temple which is also known as the Merao gave Madi's Jagir. There is also a place of Higrajmata in the temple's area.


Shri Hanuman Mandir
In the middle of the road from Mandvi to Merao you will see Shri Hanuman's Temple. At the time of the creation of the village Merao this temple was also made and devotees from the village offer oil to this temple.


Shri Hussanshah Pir's Dargah
Hussanshah Pir was also famous outside Merao; his dargah resides in the open ground of Merao. Shri Hussanshah came to Merao in the times of Famine in 1956 according Hindu calendar. He was nice to every one and helped in their sorrow and pain. He was also Hakim. People from all the caste bows their heads in front of him.


Mosque
The mosque where the Muslim's of the village does their prayers resides in the East End, near Kumbharwadaq. The dargha of Garibshah resides near this mosque. The oldest mosque of the village is at the Market Square.

Places

Pigeon House
Near the Educational Institute of Merao resides the Pigenhouse. Shri Hargan Ladhu's son Bhanvanji gave this place away to Shri Deravasi Mahajan in 1952, according to Hindu calendar.


Jain Mahajanwadi
Merao's Mahajanwadi was built in the middle of the village, in Langana Faria, in 1970 according to Hindu calendar. The requirement of more space, the upper lecture hall was built in 1982, according to Hindu calendar. According to Hindu calendar between 1985 and 1994, they were running school and reading hall in this place.


Shri Dhangori
Dhanigori means Dhanibaba's place in Langani Fariya, you will find the horses of Ramdev Pir. There are also the Footprints. The other place of Dhanibaba also resides in Shri Harshi Ganpat's Varanda at Navapuda.


Jay (Yaksh) Dev
Jakkhdev's place in the east boarder of Merao was built around 1900 according to Hindu calendar. Every villager is a devotee of Jakkhdev.


Shri Champsi Devsi Primary School
Shri Merao Jain Mitr Mandal started a school in the hall of recent mahajanwadi in 1984 according to Hindu colander. The recent building of then school was built in 1995 according to Hindu calendar at the end of the village and at the place called "pai". Shri Champsi Devsi donated 15000 to the school and so his name was given to the school. This school is opened for all castes including harijan.


Matushri Purbai and Bhachibai Jain Girl School
The first ever girl school was built in 1960 at Navapuda by Shri Heerji Bhojraj and conducted privately. Through the donation of rupees 11111, the school's new building was built in the same compound in 2012 according to Hindu calendar. This Jain girl's school was given the name from its donator's names.

 

Shri Dhanji Jethabhai Hurapar Balmandir
After the independence the nursery was started in the building of Mahajan Shri. Shri Dhanji Jethabhai Hurapar of the next village Layaja was the given the donation of RS. 10000 for the nursery.


Shri Aryarakshit Jain Tatvagnan Vidhyapith
Achalgachadipati AcharyaDevshri Gunsagarsuriji thought of building Jain Tatvgyan Vidhyapith and because of some facilities he selected Merao. In 2017 according to Hindu calendar, the Vidhyapith was came to life under the hands of social worker Shri Bhawanji Arjan Khimji and the chief Sheth Shri Ramji Ravji Lalan.


Shri Morarji Devji Free Reading Hall
The facility of reading hall was started along with the opening of the school, in the upper lecture hall of Mahajanwadi. But when the school was shifted to other place in 2989 according to Hindu calendar, the village couldn't use the facility of the reading hall. When in 1959 Shri Gangjibhai gave the books to the Mandal and gave his place to use as a reading hall, then started Shri Morarji Devshi Free reading hall. In the lower room of it have newspapers and magazines while the upper room is a library. They have started educational classes in the rented place at Bhagh Fariya.


Rahat Medical Clinic
Dr. Jawaharlal of Mandvi used to come from mandvi to Merao on cycle, and run medical clinic in 1999 according to the Hindu calendar. Shri Merao Jyoti Mitr Mandal built more facilitates clinic that was encouraged by which District's judge Shri Solanki in 23-4-1961. The clinic was conducted by Dr. Jawaharlal


Shri Merao Grampanchayat
The Grampanchayat is residing in Merao since 1954-55. Public services like water supple, electricity ad cleaning are done by Grampanchayat of Merao is situated in the rented building opposite of the bus stand nears the entrance gate of the village.


Bus Stand
There are 16 different buses that run through Merao to other places and vice versa. For the facility of travelers, Shri Velji Ganshi Bheda has donated RS. 1000 and built this bus stand near the village entrance gate. This entrance gate is built in 2013 according to the Hindu calendar and was given to Panchayat.


Water Supply Plan
At the entrance gate, opposite of bus stand resides the water tank that provides water to the village. This tank fills the water through 500 feet long under ground pipeline from the wells near by the river. This pipeline was inaugurated in 1961 by the chief minister of that time, Mr. Jivraj Maheta. Under the recent plan, they have built a new well near the old well and fixed an electric Miter in it.


Pond
On the Merao-Godhra road, at the north side of the village resides a pond near the riverbank. It is known as 'Topansar' pond from its building. Topan was a goldsmith. The water of this pond is used in all purposes besides drinking.


Darbarghad
The Ghad is like a historical memory of Garasdar who came after the village Merao was created and then they build the Darbarghad. There is a place of Jadeja's Kuldevi Shri Momaymata at the entrance of the Ghadh.


Satis' Deri
At the north side of the village Merao near the Math resides three Deris. These Deris are of Jadeja, Brahmin and Vaniya that depicts their brave resides ancient deri of Yati Shri Gulabchandraji with his footprints.


Graveyard
The Graveyard is situated at the south side of the village, near the riverbank. There is also a rest place for the morns, which was built by Shah Hirji Bhojraj in 1987 according to the Hindu calendar. To protect the burning Chita from rain, Shri Velji Ganshi built the roof in 1982 according to Hindu calendar. Mahajan preserves the graveyard.
